Workshop for Nonprofits to Focus on Improving Grant-Writing Skills
Registration Now Open for Aug. 22 Event
BLOOMINGTON — Illinois Prairie Community Foundation will host its annual workshop for local nonprofits focusing on grant-writing skills on August 22 at ISU’s Alumni Center, 1101 N. Main St., Normal.
The workshop for staff, board members and volunteers of nonprofits entitled “Research, Writing and Reporting: Strengthening Your Grant-Writing Skills” will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Deborah Halperin, Director of the Center for Engaged Learning at Illinois Wesleyan University, will give a primer on the grant process, followed by a panel discussion with local grantors. A question-and-answer session will follow the panel discussion and three rounds of table talks on various grant-writing topics will wrap the event.
Registration for the workshop is now open. Cost of the workshop is $20 for an individual or $30 for 2 people from the same nonprofit organization. REGISTER NOW or, for more information, email IPCF or call 309-662-4477. Reservation deadline is August 19.
Previously, the workshop had been held in conjunction with the foundation’s Philanthropy Lunch in November, but has been separated so both events can grow. The lunch is scheduled for November 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 10 Brickyard Dr., Bloomington.
