Workshop to Focus on Coalition Building in Nonprofit Sector
Registration Now Open for Aug. 13 Event
BLOOMINGTON — Illinois Prairie Community Foundation will host its annual Nonprofits Workshop focusing on coalition building on August 13 at ISU’s Alumni Center, 1101 N. Main St., Normal.
The workshop for staff, board members and volunteers of nonprofits entitled “Better Together: Coalition Building in the Nonprofit Sector” will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Through a panel presentation and roundtable conversations, participants will explore how current economic and administrative realities offer compelling opportunities for nonprofits to create alliances for a common cause – including agreements between fellow nonprofits, government entities, education providers and for-profit businesses.
Panelists will be:
- Sharon Chung, Illinois State Representative
- Matt Burgess, CEO at Home Sweet Home Ministries
- Paige Buschman and Rachel Waring-Sparks, ISU’s Center for Civic Engagement
- Patrick Hoban, CEO at B-N Economic Development Council
- Kate Piatt-Eckert, Nonprofit & Grantmaker Advisory at BDO Chicago
Erik Rankin, IPCF CEO/President, and local nonprofit professional Hannah Johnson will co-moderate the workshop.
