Ross Elite 8 Scholarship

On March 7, 1972, the unranked Woodland High School's boys basketball team defeated top-ranked Chicago Christian 52-51 at the Pontiac Super Sectional. Despite facing a heavily favored and formidable opponent, the Warriors earned the school's first ever trip to the Class A state quarterfinals at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall. They won this game the same way they approached the entire season - with a tremendous focus on total team effort and sportsmanship. This fund celebrates the incredible accomplishments of the Woodland Warriors 1972 Elite 8 basketball team and seeks to honor Woodland High School student athletes who embody those same winning attitudes - in sports, in the classroom and in the community.

All funds collected through this scholarship fund will provide scholarship funding for individuals from Woodland High School.
