September 20, 2022 - Women to Women Fall Forum

4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022 at ISU's Alumni Center

A public forum about barriers and challenges facing working families will be hosted by the Women to Women Giving Circle Tuesday, September 20, at the ISU Alumni Center, 1101 N. Main St., Normal. The forum is free and open to the public. “Working Families: Barriers & Challenges – Childcare and Transportation” is the focus of the forum, which will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. - More info

April 5, 2022 - Women to Women Spring Forum

4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at ISU's Alumni Center “Let’s Talk About Inclusion – Opening Doors for the Differently‐Abled and Their Families” was the focus of the forum, which continued the discussion on DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) through the lens of autism. Diana Hauman, a member of the Women to Women Steering Committee, moderated the discussion with panelists Christy Kosharek, Vice President of Pediatric Therapy at Marcfirst; Leslie Hanson, Director of Special Services for District 87; and Dr. Chuck Hartseil, former Director of Mackinaw Valley Special Education, board member of Autism McLean and step‐parent of a young adult with autism. A question and answer session followed the panel discussion.

October 19, 2021 - Women to Women Fall Forum

4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at ISU's Alumni Center “A Local Look at Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” was the focus of the forum, which discussed elements of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) and examine the issue through a local lens. Panelists were Angela Allen, Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager of COUNTRY Financial; Rocio Rivadeneyra, Associate Dean of Arts & Sciences at Illinois State University; and Li Zeng, Associate Professor at Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts and President of AsiaConnect at Illinois State University. Kristal Shelvin, a member of the Women to Women Steering Committee and Unit 5 School’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director, moderated the panel discussion.

August 17, 2021 - Women to Women Summer Celebration

4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at ISU's Hancock Stadium East Concourse We celebrated our 10th Anniversary of making grants in our community with an outdoors celebration. 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021, via Zoom Dr. Danita Brown Young and Dr. Doris Houston discuss "Renewal and Recovery: The Future After COVID." The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted women and children in unique ways. Drs. Young and Houston discussed what the most important issues are and how we can most effectively help.
