Sullivan Rohrscheib Memorial Fund

Sullivan Rohrscheib was born June 30, 2020, with a very serious heart defect. He passed away shortly after birth, spending almost his entire life in the loving arms of his parents, Josh Rohrscheib and Ciarra Kent.

Josh Rohrscheib, right, helps cut the ribbon on the Rohrscheib Theater at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington. The Theater, which replaces the Rainforest Theater, was dedicated in memory of his son, Sullivan, who died shortly after birth.

His parents have established a fund at Illinois Prairie Community Foundation to help them and others turn their grief toward doing something constructive in Sullivan's memory. The purpose of the Sullivan Rohrscheib Memorial Fund is to provide funding to a significant local project that serves causes for youth that best memorializes Sullivan, and to projects in our community that bring joy to children.

Josh and Ciarra have committed to funding a new outdoor education theater at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington in memory of Sullivan. The theater should be completed in 2021 and will be dedicated to Sullivan. In addition, each year on his birthday, children visiting the zoo will get free ice cream. We hope this project will bring joy to our community. And we invite our friends and family to see the completed structure in 2021.

Thank you to our friends and family who have helped make this memorial donation possible.

Any funds beyond our promised gift to the zoological society will be used towards another project or organization that serves the youth of our community.

Illinois Prairie Community Foundation serves as fiscal sponsor of the Sullivan Rohrscheib Memorial Fund. You may make an online donation to the Sullivan Rohrscheib Memorial Fund, or get information on making a donation in another manner by clicking here.
