THE SDG FELLOWS PROGRAM

The SDG Fellows Program Fund was established in 2022 for the purpose to raise funds and provide scholarships to students willing to intern for companies currently leading their industries in achieving the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 during the Decade of Action, as well as companies that are amid organizational change to the same end.

The SDG Fellows Program Fund was inspired by the academics, librarians, and publishers all volunteering their time as Higher Education Sustainability Initiative SDG Fellows with the purpose of doing the work necessary for the success of the United Nations SDG Publishers Compact. There are currently more than 150 Signatories across six continents, all of which are encouraged to donate and welcome to apply to host an SDG Fellow.

The SDG Fellows Program Fund seeks to raise $365,000 during Q2 FY2022 and an additional $2.3 million during Q3 &Q4. Donations raised during Q2 will fund scholarships made available to one Fellow’s college or university (as well as some administrative costs), dispersed in parts after various milestones of the 6-month program, including the 10-week on-site or virtual internship.

All donations made to the Fund through the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation (a 501c3) are tax-deductible.

All donors are welcome to apply to host an SDG Fellow from The SDG Fellows Program during their on-site or virtual internship. Do not hesitate to reach out directly to [email protected] if you or your organization would like to host an SDG Fellow.
