Young Engaged in Philanthropy accepts applications for each school year in the spring of the previous year (for example, applications for the 2018-2019 school year were accepted in spring 2018).

YEP provides 20-25 students the opportunity to learn about the important role of the nonprofit sector and the impact that philanthropy has in creating a vibrant, inclusive community. Applicants must currently be in 8th to 10th grade and live in McLean, Logan, Livingston, or DeWitt Counties. The program seeks a diverse, enthusiastic group of students to be a part of this philanthropic opportunity.

YEP members learn to assess community needs, implement a granting cycle, evaluate grant proposals and hone communication and decision-making skills while developing teamwork and leadership qualities.
