Celebrating Local Philanthropy Events

Illinois Prairie Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter by offering philanthropic leadership, organization and grant-making for the long-term enrichment of our community

Starting in 2024, IPCF is launching the Nonprofits Workshop and Philanthropy Lunch as their own stand-alone events to better align with the Foundation's events timeline and provide each event the opportunity to grow.

The Nonprofits Workshop will take place in the morning of Thursday, Aug. 22, at ISU's Alumni Center, 1101 N. Main St., Normal. This year's event will focus on grant writing. "Grant writing has been suggested as a topic by past attendees and we're glad to finally be covering that topic," said Michele Evans, Grants & Communications Director.

The Philanthropy Lunch will remain in November to coincide with national Philanthropy Day. This year's lunch will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel by 10 Brickyard Dr., Bloomington. Recipients of the Philanthropists of the Year award will be recognized at the lunch. Nominations for the awards (one for residents of Bloomington-Normal and one for outside the Twin Cities, DeWitt, Livingston and Logan counties) will be accepted in June and July.

This year's topic is "Preserve & Persevere: Celebrating Our History." Bill Kemp, Librarian for the McLean County Museum of History, will speak about preservation and archiving of materials.
