IPCF to Recognize Local Philanthropy With Workshop, Celebration Nov. 18

Registration Now Open for Nonprofits Workshop & Philanthropy Celebration

 

BLOOMINGTON — Illinois Prairie Community Foundation will celebrate National Philanthropy Week on Nov. 18 with a morning workshop for local nonprofits and a luncheon to recognize the annual Philanthropists of the Year. The events will take place at the Holiday Inn Bloomington-Normal, 8 Traders Circle, Normal.

The morning begins with the nonprofits workshop for staff, board members and volunteers of nonprofits entitled “Digital Communication Strategies for Nonprofit Organizations.” The workshop will take place from 8:30-11:30 a.m., with check-in and breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. Beth Whisman of the Children’s Discovery Museum, will moderate a panel discussion. Among panelists are Ben Mitzelfelt of PIP Printing and Ashlee Sang of Ashlee Sang Consulting. A question and answer session will follow the panel discussion with two rounds of table conversation on various communication topics.

The Philanthropy Luncheon will honor 2021 Philanthropists of the Year Hank and Mary Campbell of Normal and Dale Maley of Fairbury. Last year’s winners – Arthur and Camille Taylor of Bloomington and Susan Hoblit of Atlanta – will also the recognized in person at the luncheon. This is the second year that IPCF is presenting two awards – one for Bloomington-Normal and one for Outside the Twin Cities in McLean, DeWitt, Livingston and Logan counties. The celebration will begin at noon and last until about 1 p.m.

“The Campbells and Maley all exemplify the spirit of philanthropy through their involvement in, and support of, numerous community organizations during the years they have lived in our community,” said Greg Meyer, Executive Director of Illinois Prairie Community Foundation.

Registration for both the workshop and the luncheon are now open. Cost of the workshop is $25 per person; two people from the same nonprofit organization may attend for the price of one. Cost of the luncheon is $40 per person. A vegetarian meal option is available for lunch attendees.
