CELEBRATING LOCAL PHILANTHROPY
Each November, Illinois Prairie Community Foundation celebrates local philanthropy with a Nonprofits Workshop and Philanthropy Celebration to honor our Philanthropists of the Year. The 2021 event will be held on Nov. 18. IPCF hopes to hold this event in-person this year at the Holiday Inn in north Normal. More information will be posted here as details are confirmed.
These two events highlight IPCF's commitment to local philanthropy. The events kick off with a Nonprofits Workshop in the morning. The noontime Philanthropy Celebration event follows the workshop and honors the Philanthropists of the Year. In 2020, IPCF began awarding two Philanthropist(s) of the Year awards - one for Bloomington-Normal and another for outside the Twin Cities (other parts of McLean County, plus DeWitt, Livingston or Logan counties).

2020 Nonprofit Workshop
The 2020 IPCF Nonprofit Workshop topic was Building Resilience and Opportunities for Innovation. Panelists discussed how their nonprofits persevered during COVID-19 and the unique changes they made in light of our “new normal.” View a recording of the 2020 virtual workshop, download a document on personal resilience and fill out an evaluation of the workshop.
2020 Philanthropy Celebration
The Philanthropy Celebration attendees heard from three 2020 General Grant recipients about what receiving a grant has meant to their nonprofit programs: Living Well United of LeRoy, Boys & Girls Club of Livingston County in Pontiac and Dreams Are Possible of Bloomington.
In addition, IPCF awarded Philanthropists of the Year awards to Arthur and Camille Taylor of Bloomington (Philanthropists of the Year, Bloomington-Normal) and Susan Hoblit of Atlanta (Philanthropist of the Year, Outside Twin Cities). Read more about the Taylors and Hoblit.
